What system do you think we should use to communicate?
How to play the game
There is always ventrilo. but I think we would need to make a server thingy for it... Steph knows more about it, she used it with wow. Skype is another option that would allow use to "Conference call" for free or video phone one on one. As for virtual table tops it looks like we have a host to choose from but it is one more thing people would have to learn. Though I think it would work better then the forum for actual RPGs. I have role played on forums before and there is no point to dice, they just get lost in the mix. I hate to lay this on you Jason, but you are the DM so you should test and pick the table top system you want to use. Also everyone should take a look and vote on the voice systems.

I prefer speech.

I don't know what to vote for, speech is sometimes hard online, and text is hard to keep up with, especially if you're typing alot of things while trying to keep up with everyone else. I'd rather do it in person, but it seems like there's no way (at least for voting)

The issue lays within the fact I live in moose jaw and I am trying to get out of the 24-7. Get a job in MJ. Which would make travelling back and forth a huge pain in the ass, not that it isn;t already.

Re: How to play the game
Well if it is in person only, I'm out. Sorry. I might beable to give it to you once in a while but not very often. I just can't promise the time of driving 45min both ways to play D&D when I could spend the time playing other games with other people. I love hanging out, but for a 4 hour game it would take me about 6 hours. If I work that night it has to be early enough I can play and go to work and not be so tired afterwards I can't get home because I'm falling asleep at the wheel. Again, I'm sorry. Later all.

well no, I don't need to do it in person, I just need collaboration
like figuring if we could use both microphones and some text/dice interface on top

You should text Gary about what he wants to do.

As for teaching the rules we can work something out I'm sure of that.

I have no preference either text or speech or a combination but I'm not tech savvy enough to help choose or give options sorry!

Re: How to play the game
ideally i would want a speaking system, with the ability to make seperate channels (in case I seperate the group for a bit, so that there's no "spidey sense" running over to the guys in trouble)
then along with a text interface that could keep track of any fights or important details, also with multiple instances for talking to people seperately
and for the ultimate, something along with that for pictures (although i could juts host them here or on another photo site and just link it

by no means this dice rolling part is great, but the live chatbox added to the front page is awesome
